Laptop keyboard not working

I have a Sony VAIO computer and my keyboard and mouse aren't working. I'm typing with an on screen keyboard right now and I've been using a wireless mouse for weeks. The most frustrating part is that the keyboard starts and stops working randomly. This computer is only about a year old and I can't figure out what's wrong with it.

I have seen so so many many many VAIOs with bad keyboards, that i generally ask people to avoid these laptops (except for very high end/ expensive models) -- specifically for keyboard issues. It's a hardware issue. You need a new keyboard. If it was some other laptop, i would have asked you to try and test the keyboard in safe mode. But since it is a VAIO, i'm almost certain it's a hardware failure. Take it to sony service.
