Laptop Keyboard

Probably get th1s quest1on a lot, but 1 managed to sp1ll a b1t of vodka on my laptop and now the letters 1 and the letter between 'h' and 'k' and ctrl 1tself no longer work properly. They now seem to be mapped to 'crtl + that letter'. 1s there any way to rect1fy th1s or would 1t be eas1er to get an external keyboard?

Sometimes you can pop off the keys and clean under them, but it may be easier to replace the keyboard. What model laptop do you have?

1 popped off a few, but there's no v1s1ble l1qu1d to mop up so 1'm a l1ttle stuck. 1t's a Packard Bell, Model no. PEW91

I did a quick search on Google earlier and couldn't find anything, in the way of replacement keyboards. It probably doesn't help that Packard Bell stopped selling PC's in the US back around 1999, so that really limits the number of parts in the market. It's possible you could take the keyboard out and clean it with something like this CRC Electronic Parts Cleaner.

Sorry about your issue but as a vodka fiend myself, I smile at this as I've done the same thing before...vodka 'impairs' keyboards quickly, as it does the drinker...
