well, if you arent getting any signal from external, arent getting anything on your laptop screen... its something else. did you spill anything on your laptop?
i'd start with taking one ram stick out, then swapping one at a time. sometimes there is a ram stick under the keyboard, so if they arent both under the hatch onj the bottom, go ahead and remove the keyboard. that can be done by pushing in the small tabs above the F keys, or by prying off the top strip (sometimes held in by screws under the battery), and taking out the keyboard screws
if you can put the ram into another laptop to test it, that would be helpful too.
anyways, if the ram isnt the issue, you could always reseat the processor. this isnt quite so easy, so lets hope its the ram before i try and walk you through that
do you get any sound from the speakers? if you are getting any windows sounds, then the ram isnt the issue, its probably the video chip. if you arent getting any sound whatsoever... you probably have a bad board. those run around 70-130 on ebay, and if it comes down to it, ill walk you through replacing that
