LCD Temp displays?

I am going to be building a computer soon and I was wondering if I should get a LCD Temp display unit so I can make sure everything is running cool when I get it all together.

I am ordering stuff from the follow stores:

So if there is anything from those stores that you would recommend that would be great.

The THERMALTAKE HARDCANO units are of interest to me and they also have little fans to cool a Harddrive.

I am getting a Antec 900 case so I probably don't need any extra cooling for the hard drives. I am just wanting something that can display the temps of the CPU and other stuff that should be monitored.
 
The lcd display tempuature monitors use little probes and 95% of the time they are far from accurate. I have the NZXT Sentry controller which has the option of three probes for temps. I only use one of them for the temp inside the case, but other than that i use it for the fan controller. But then again some people that place it on the cpu or hard drive only have a small difference in the correct temp. I personally havn't even took the time to see how accurate they are.

Those thermaltake units are very nice though.. tempting :P
 
I will probably get one of the Thermaltake Hardcano units. Even if the temps aren't that accurate I can still use it for controlling the fan speed.

I just can't decide between the Hardcano 12 SE and the Hardcano 10.

The 12 looks a lot cooler with the blue backlight and blue buttons where as the 10 has USB and Firewire ports. The case I am getting already has 1 firewire and 2 usb ports so I don't think I will ever need to use the ports on the Hardcano 10.

I am getting the Antec 900 case and will be using all the fans and fan slots, so that is a total of 6 fans. The 10 shows that you can hook up multiple fans to the same control by chaining them together, but the 12 should be able to do that too, right? The 10 is able to record the highest temperature where the 12 doesn't say anything about doing that. Only $3 price difference between the two units so cost isn't something to consider.

Here are the Fans the case will have.
- 1 top 200mm TriCool fan with 3-speed switch control
- 1 rear 120mm TriCool fan with 3-speed switch control
- 2 front 120mm TriCool fans with 3-speed switch control
- 1 side 120mm TriCool fan with 3-speed switch control
- 1 middle 120mm TriCool fan with 3-speed switch control

Plus 1 Northbridge fan and the stock CPU fan that comes with intel core duos. Would there be any reason to hook those two fans to the Hardcano or should I just hook those up to the motherboard? Or would those two fans have different connectors?

So all the fans are Antec Tricools with a 3-speed switch control. I am not sure if the 3-speed switch will make a difference on how the fans perform connected to the Hardcano 12/10. I would probably just turn the 3-speed switch to the highest position then use the Hardcano to adjust it from there.



One last questions after going on about the Hardcano...

Is it worth getting a fan controller? Or would it be better to just plug all the fans into the motherboard so the speed can be adjusted automatically? I am actually not even sure if the motherboard I am getting supports that though. I am getting a EVGA nForce 680i SE (TR Version). Anyone know if that motherboard changes the fan speed automatically? Or can all new motherboards do that now? I am a PC newb :(
