According to a market specialist (posted on /. a while ago), Linux will take over the desktop market in 3-5 years (I think that's what it said).

I don't mind either way. SuSE 9.1 is great, not hard to configure at all. YaST2 is the best! A lot of the popular games are getting ported over as well (UT2004, Doom III...) and I think software will be next. Until all my useful software is ported over (don't like using WINE much) then I'll stay on dual boot :D

I'v done with installation on my notebook and it works well except the missing touchpad drivers (witch i really miss) and my modem drivers (witch i don't miss). dual boot works great so i'm looking forward to install cross over. i believe also that linux is getting importand on the market during next years.

I find that I can do everything with Linux now that I ever have done with Windows. It has become a great desktop alternative... the version I am using now is Slackware 9.0, with Dropline Gnome as my default desktop. With a little bit of customization and play (fun fun :) ), it is a great computing experience.

Agreed although for many things it is simply more efficient to use Windows. Case in point: (a) video games and (b) video encoding. Linux encoding is quite inefficient in its current state :)
