Local Area Network Missing

hi guy is there someone who can help me?... i have a problem with my network.. my local area is missing or dsappeard when i refresh it the mssage promt... ''The Network Connections Folder was unable to retrieves the list of Network adapters on your machine. Please make sure that the Network Connection service is enabled and running"... then my device manager tab is also missing... but i have internet connection.. is this a virus or what??? pls help me Thanks

Your device manager tab is missing? Normally it's not a tab, but an mmc box.
Try running devmgmt.msc

Anyway, if your network connections is empty, but you still have internet, it could just be a some rare graphics problem, though I have never heard of this.

Make sure your Network Connections services are running as it says. Scan for viruses, etc...

I don't quite understand entirely what you are saying, but try those things.

do you have a firewall ?
