Looking for a very specific firefox plugin....

I want to try out firefox's tabbed browsing however I would like the control to be able to make rules about tabbing vs windowing. I need the following functionality ...

If i browse from http://something/index.html to http://something/somethingelse.html i can define whether i want tab or window .... so for example:

If I am currently at http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx and I want to go to http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/default.mspx i can have it automatically go to a new tab .... but if I goto http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/email/default.mspx it automatically goes to a window. Yes I'm aware that you can open things in tabs vs windows using the mouse.... but mice are slow and I dont use the mouse much.

It would be very nice to have the ruleset be specific down to the filename (i.e., "index.htm" versus "sales.htm" but i suppose i could settle for something more general like http://something --> http://somethingElse ... so long as it differentiates from subdomains... what I mean here is the ability to make rules for the following:

www.subdomainA.site.com going to www.subdomain1.someOtherSite.com = window
www.subdomainA.site.com going to www.subdomain2.someOtherSite.com = tab
www.subdomainB.site.com going to www.someOtherSite.com = window

Yes im aware that there will be an obscene number of rules! (I dont browse websites very often ... i go where i need to the 1st time) and so this isnt an issue for me (especially so since i can simply take my whitelist firewall rules and quickly adapt them for this). I'm pretty damn sure there isnt a mod/plugin/whatever for this but a shot in the dark cant hurt.

Seems everyone ignored this thread, i missed it too. I had a long look through the extensions archive at ff's site, i couldnt find anything like what your describing. Although having something like that would be very cool, perhaps you could frop it ni to a firefox forum if you find one (do the have an official one)

in the mean time you'll have to make good use of the CTRL and SHIFT buttons
