Looking for good sound

Hi, I'm looking for a laptop at the cheaper end of the market as a second computer used mainly for internet surfing, must have a reasonable sound, probably never leave the kitchen so weight not an issue, I have looked at netbooks but I can't find anything with a good review, any help will be much appreciated

If it never leaves the kitchen I would recommend a small form factor PC. Why?

Easily upgradable
Cheaper for the same power

Either way please post budget.
 
I don't follow your logic, that a machine that never gets moved needs to be a laptop, but anyway. Sorry I don't follow laptops, someone else here should be able to assist ;)
 
What you need is a laptop/ tablet connect to a speaker, even £12 x-mini II is better than laptop speaker IMO.
 
For 400 you will not find much, the only laptop I have ever owned with good sound is either a Dell with srs sound or a Hp with beats audio but I payed anywhere from $800 to $1000 for systems that have those.

Pick up a cheap net book at your local store then you can hook up pc speakers to it, I always do recommend PC speaker that plug into a power source because the ones that run of the power of the laptop/netbook do not get very loud at all.
