what do you think about this game? i think it SUCKS. the graphics are terrible and it runs really slow even though the graphics look like games from 6 years ago.

oh yeah its also 14GB on hard drive!!

I liked it a lot actually. That game is meant to run on really high resolution, but that is why it looks kinda crappy. The graphics are great on that game. I don't really want to get into the technical stuff right now on why the graphics are good and may seem slow on your computer, too tired, lol.

I never liked the flight simulator series, except Flight Simulator 95.

But I do agree that for how much it stresses your computer, the graphics arent the best looking.

well.. a flight sim isnt about grafic's tough... true.. it has to look relatively good (but 2002 had that already)

Its more about realistic physic's,.. stress calculations etc.. basicly, realism (the non visual part).

I think 2002 is pretty much all you'd want in a flight sim right now, at least for average computers. I honestly don't think you'd need anything more advanced. What do you get from the newer ones anyway? More aircraft? You can just download them, I have about ~15 extra ones I got from avsim.com.

the really cool thing about FS:X tough... the completely interactive 3d cockpits... those really add something to the game imo :)

THat stress is from doing physics calculations, lost of them :P. And it looks ok, but the terrain is seriously lacking.

the graphics and lag you are getting could be to do with your graphics card. i have seen screen grabs from the game, and it looks really good.

true, there's only a little bit of that in 2002, so yes it actually is something I might consider now that I think of it.

I think it is been released for training purposes and to let people have an idea how much it is hard to learn how to drive a plane!!!

FSX doesnt even use blade element therory, FSX uses tables that it has to look up data from and then calculate the planes preformance. Using that system you can get a cube to fly. At least X-plane calculates all the forces in real time by the actual geometry of the plane. Also, with certain setups, x-plane is certified by the FAA.

With plugins and such, x-plane is easily better then FSX in both realism and looks. It also comes with development tools and has a great community.

I did not make these and yes the last plane is from halo.

i just downloaded the trial and i must say i was extremely unimpressed. the graphics/sound were bleh, controls were crap, the whole game just seems uninspired. granted, it is a simulation but i just expected more.
