Modem Connectivity Question

Hey everyone,

I have a quick question I hope someone is able to answer. About a year ago I bought a Motorola SURFboard modem.

Here is the info and reviews:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16825122009

It has worked well with Comcast and has done a nice job with everything as far as I am concerned. However, I am about to make a move and CenturyLink is probably who I will take up as a provider and I wanted to know if anyone has heard that this modem will have problems with them. They say they only connect to one Motorola, the 3347. I read the reviews about mine on Newegg and tried to see if Motorola said anything about ISP situations, but couldn't find anything. Thanks for any help!

Your existing modem is for cable internet only. If you switch to Centurylink, they provide DSL internet so your existing modem won't work. DSL and Cable modems aren't interchangeable. You will need to use one provided by Centurylink.

It depends on the isp. That modem won't work with dsl, only cable. It's an okay-quality modem for the job, I guess. I've never been particularly impressed with mine.
