More Power or Cable Management?

Hey guys, I want to get a new power supply because I don't feel 100% comfortable with this power supply (500W). Now, I want to get the best bang for the buck. The scenario is;

Let's say you need 550W to power up your whole system. Would you rather get a ~600W modular PSU or a +700W non-modular PSU? Supposing both cost the same.

Thanks Danny :)

Yep that HX series from Corsair really seems very good but I think they're a bit overpriced. Here are the ones I am looking at, 2 are modular and the other 2 are not.

XIGMATEK: (surprisingly good)

They all have excellent reviews, any comments, preferences or other options??

THanks! :D

Modular FTW! I desperately need a new PSU solely for c-m purposes. It seems all the nice modular ones are way-overkill for my power needs, though. When I buy it will either be modular or have very long cables that I can run wherever I want.

Well... Most of the times you pick a PSU on how much your rig will use when idling or being under load. In general I pick the average 50% load usage. And most times a PSU will be most efficient between 40% of it's total capacity and 60% of it's capacity (give or take a few %'s).

And don't really mind Modular or not, I'm taking a closed case anyway. But even with cases such as the Nine Hundred there is this nice panel in the back where you can do some cable organization and I am quite sure you can hide unused cables back there as well :)
