Mozy Beta offers free 2GB backup storage. It's pretty cool and its free which is nice.

Its generally fast, I was transfering files at 500-700 kb/s.

I backed up about 1.9GB quite fast.

I just thought I would share it with you so you can back up some important files and because its free and this is a computer forum

I am actually going to update my last thread.

It is incredibly slow. I thought it backed up 1.9GB of stuff but it really didnt. It has taken me about 5 hours to back up 1.9GB worth of TV shows.
 
I think your internet's upload speed is to blame, not Mozy. And isn't 1.9 GB in 5 hours fast enough?? What speed were you expecting? O_o

Also hardly anyone has 500-700kbps upload speeds... eihter way I refuse to click.

The "?ref=X44H7I" at the end of the link is a refferal link which is also known as a affilate ID which gives him credit for eevryone who goes there with that link Rule four of the forum rules.

O Boo hoo its not spam. It is a referall link though.

I would understand if it was a link to some "free ipod" website or free xbox 360 but its not. It is a link to a legit backup site that is something closely related to this forum. It is something that everyone here can use and truly has a lot to do with the COMPUTER FORUM, so yes its a referall link. Did it hurt your feelings?

NP, its a very useful link. But I happened to post my referall link, oooooo. I will change it if it makes everyone feel better.

I thought it took a very long time, the 5 hours was totally off for me. I thought it was done once again, I just got disconnected.

With all the combined loading times for 1.97GB of information it literally took about 10 hours. I find that kind of ridiculous.

Well the rules are no refferal links, if you wanted to help out the forum you could have posted it referal free, all I said was it was breaking the forum rules, which it was, because its clearly stated.

Your right, they are the rules. But it really doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me. It's closely related to the forum and many people can use it. Maybe I dont see the big deal.

It's jsut the way I see it, the rules. That, and I think if all you wanted to do was help and post the link you could have done it without the refferal link. Just my way of seeing it.

by your logic, those are both computer related(hell, the xbox 360 is a damn good computer)then those should be ok, because you are trying to "help the forum". your logic is bull.

Me providing a link to a free ipod or free xbox 360 benefits the forum in no way. By clicking on that it helps nobody but me. With the referall link i provided, so it does help me but it also provides everyone here with a link to a useful website that benefits people who click on it.
