MW3 problem.

I recently bought MW3 on steam, and the single player and multi-player installed fine. The problem is when I try to run the game. When I double click on the app, it shows the preliminary MW3 picture before it goes into the game, and then my computer just restarts itself. It happens everytime for both single and multi-player, and I have no idea why. I also have other games like Skyrim and a bunch of star wars games that run perfectly fine, but this one decides not to. I don't think it's my gpu because it can run skyrim (I feel if you can run that game easily, you can run most games easily). Is it something with my comp or the game? I was thinking of seeing if I can get my money back on steam, and then buy a hard copy instead. But if there is an easier way to fix it, I would like to know!

go to your Steam Library and right click MW3. Go to Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

Try again. If it still shuts down.

Navigate to:

Computer > C:\ > Program Files (Program files x86 if on 64 bit OS) > Steam > steamapps > common > call of duty modern warfare 3 > Redist

Run the vcredist and run DXSETUP.exe in the DirectX folder. Try again

So when I tried the first one, it went a little farther, but then froze and blue screened on me. So I tried the second one, and it blue screened even faster than the other way. So it's still not working. It can't be any of my comp parts because, all my other games run fine.

This sounds like a hardware issue to me. Either RAM or PSU.

I disagree becaues the problem is so specific. If it was a hardware issue problems would be seen elsewhere as well.

If it was the PSU, it would happen in other games because the components are under stress and drawing more power there, it would be no different playing any game, but that is not the case. If it were memory, you would almost certainly see issues elsewhere and they would most probably because more frequent, again, this isn't the case, it is only ever MW3 and only when loading it.

I don't think it is the game that is at fault either though, rather an incompatibility or possibly a driver issue, but that can't be remedied without first knowing computer specs and

Both SP and MP do the same thing.

GTX550 Ti GeForce , AMD 8-CORE FX-8150, PSU CM RS750-ACAAE3-US 750W, HD 500G SAMSUNG HD502HJ/ST500DM005. These are the main specs. Hopefully that would help.
