I'm making this post using my PS3 because I don't have a router yet and I wanted to check some stuff out so bam I can just use my PS3. MMM I love it so much.

My neighbor has a PS3, it's really nice, but pretty darn expensive too.

Spoiled? lol I bought all this myself. Oh man, I love this thing. I'm a million times glad that I didn't waste my money on a 360.

Haha, I bought Resistance: Fall of Man, Oblivion, Guitar Hero 3, and it game with Motor Storm. Oh, and I bought the 80 gb HDD system. I've already setup all my online ID and stuff and transferred ps2 mem card stuff. Also setup F@H. The only thing I need to buy right now is an HDMI-HDMI cable. I'm already using optical audio.

Sweet, sounds awesome. You should check out the Uncharted: Drakes Fortune demo that's on the playstation network, it's by the insanely awesome naughty dog crew. Best animations and voice acting/lip syncing ever, not to mention all the other great stuff. And before you go searching for Prons, you might want to hit up trend micro's free AV for the system, wouldn't want that shiny new hunk of gaming goodness to get filled up with Trojans and other nasty items.

Nice one, Guitar hero 3. :D
 
Thanks Hermes for the suggestions. I did see that demo you're talking about. When I get my router I might have to download that. There was another cooling demo I saw too-something about time travel and fixing it.

Edit: TimeShift was the name of that other demo. I'm downloading Uncharted now.

Nice, PS3s arent really over priced now that they got a price drop.
IMHO theyre gonna make a comback.
Hopefully, more games will start comming out (faster?)
Exclusives should help it (Metal Gear Solid).
 
if only i had know they would drop this much. got mine when they were still 600. me and my bro had to split it but i have to say. the mem card attachment you buy for 15$ is a peice of crud. you only use it once. but i like my system. btw what you think of the controler. lost of people say it stinks. personaly i love it.

The sixxaxis controller? It's the same as ps2 with a few minor additions. I've always like ps2 controllers over xbox. I've now got a whole bunch of Demos pending for download while I run F@H. The mem card adapter is kind of stupid for 15 bucks. I can't remember how much I paid for my ps3-I just kind of bought it. The 80gb system with gh3 was a few bucks over 700 I think. Also, I love how my PS3 is a computer too. I'm gonna install a linux distro in the future.
 
done that... :D but i like the sixaxes. it is so lite and the battery lasts forever. and i love the motion contole. too bad they dont use it in too many games
 
Seems like something that they'll start using more often.
Course, I struggled when using it in WarHawk. (course it may just take getting used to. i only played for a an hour or two).

Do they use blu-ray disks for games yet? Seems like that is/will be a huge advantage over the 360
 
Well, I'm glad to hear some good feed back on the PS3. Once I get a job, which should be by the end of the month with any luck, I plan on saving up for a PS3. I'm not sure which model though.

Is the PS3 still having those backward Compatibility problems where the PS2 games look all edgy and crappy compared to on the system they were made for?

I heard rumours that the 80 GIG wasn't Backwards-Comp. Is that true or fake?
 
well i have never had a problem with backwards compatibility. The frame is cut (well on a wide screen tv) but the graphics look great. Just one piece of advice. if you plan on getting a heater. Just get the ps3 :D they will make your room 10 degrees hoter in no time.
 
Okay, good. So it was just a problem when the system first came out then.. I had seen pictures and reports on websites all over the place of a game like MGS on the PS2 then on the PS3.. and the PS3 pictures were rendering up as jagged, edgy and crappy.

Glad to hear it's better. =]

EDIT: Well I hope the buggy Backwards Comp. is fixed.. I hate to get an 80 gig that plays PS2 games like crap.

And alright.. stay away from the 40 Gig. =]
 
I've heard about the buggy backwards compatibility. I have no idea whether that's been resolved. Towards the other question, it's the newer, $400 40Gb version that holds no backwards compatibility. Along with losing the HDMI port.
