need for speed carbon help

When ever i try to play this game at the time of launching the game a black screen appear to launch but it ends up showing blue screen of death.Can anyone help me out what's the conflict and how can i solve it?

My specs are:
Intel 845GRG mobo
nvidia geforceFX5500 256MB
P4 2.0GHz
512 RAM
 
legit means authentic;real. Can you be more elaborate on the BSOD? Give us an stop error like 0x000000007b. It'll look like that.

That doesn't make a difference as non-legit copies still work. try reinstalling your grahics card driver. You have XP right? Your graphics card is totally inadequate for playing carbon even if it did work its going to lag, even on low settings at 1024x768. You can try 800x600, but that is really really sh*t, and there is no point playing a game at 800x600.
