Hi All.

This game has been nothing but a hassle thought Id buy for a bit of racing fun with the frostbite engine to try out the my new HD6950.

So far after numerous issues due origin and such I still havent been able to play the game.

What happens now is when you start the main game it intros the character then minimizes to the desktop, usually with the error the the display driver has stopped responding and has recovered.

And will not go back to the game and load. I have re-installed drivers with no effect.

Any help at all would be appreciated.

Edit: Also Updated Windows with all the latest updates.

Thanks.

Does it give you an option of more info, for example on this Safari AppHang1B Error, it gives you a button "view problem details". This one has already been clicked:

Ill have a look when I get home.

Tbh I only noticed it gave that error message when it was in windowed mode. If in full screen it just minimizes with no message, Which I find Really helpful lol.

Lol forgot about event viewr, it says:

Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

Raised a case with ea, lets see how helpful they are. Just to say system is perfectly stable in everything else apart from this one game.

EA is only helpfull if you phone them up, even then they are kinda crap, try using a beta driver, do anyother games run, such as bf3 as that has frostbite 2?

Havent got bf3 to test, got an email from ea and their steps to resolve it are kinda of useless, actually they are completely useless. :)

It could possibly be hardware issues too. Going by your sig you have a quality PSU there but it may still be the issue, or the card itself could be getting a bit hot.

Take the card out of your system, spray it with air to remove dust and try again. Simply re-searing the card may also possibly help too.

May also be a RAM problem, check your RAM with Memtest86.

I doubt it is memory if the issue only manifests itself in one game, the same goes for the PSU and graphics card itself. Likewise with an overheating card, I have honestly never actually seen an error due to overheating, only ever a system shutdown or complete component failure.

He also says the card is new, so dust build up at this point is highly unlikely

Speak to AMD, and do any other games work, try Heaven Benchmark, see if you get the same error, i get this error for nVida 580 because i overclocked :p

Have a cookie.

(Its a driver problem I think, but it may be something else)
