need help game requirements

when i play Dayz my computer gets really choppy whenever i play and the graphics are at the lowest settings.

--dayz system requirements recommended
OS: Windows 7
Processor: Intel Core i5 or AMD Athlon Phenom X4 or faster
Memory: 2GB
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 or ATI Radeon HD 5770 or faster with Shader Model 3 and 896 MB VRAM
DirectX®: DirectX 9.0c
Hard Drive: 20 GB free space

what do i need to make my computer compatible with Dayz?
Do i need a new graphics card, new processor, new motherboard?
What do i need to get my fps around 60 at least while playing Dayz?
 
You need a new everything. Old motherboard means you cant get a good enough cpu, and your power supply probably wont be enough to get a gpu powerful enough for it either, that computer is about useless for that game
 
Hmm yea, no. New graphics card and you should be able to play it, which may require a new power supply as well, but you will be set for low settings
 
I would not be so sure. those look to be the same requirements of Arma II, and I played it maxed out on a HD4870 and Celeron G530. It ran at about 35 FPS average (plenty playable).

I agree with him getting a new graphics card, and PSU, but he may be okay with his processor to get medium or high as is.
 
what watt power supply is required for a nice graphics card? i have 280W right now

also from the graphics card i want .. would a 100-200$ graphics card be worth getting?

500+ watts from a good brand like Antec, Corsair, NZXT, OCZ, PC power and cooling, Seasonic, Silverstone, or XFX.
 
From the card you have now it would be a huge upgrade. If you spend that much on one though id def start saving for a system that will be able to better useit.

It would be a huge upgrade. Assuming, seeing as how $200 was the top you posted there, that is your budget, I would take:

It would play the game on higher settings, however you would be bottlenecked still by your processor. If you were to upgrade it, even to an i3, you would be able to hit high settings no problem, but that would be a near entire system rebuild, as on top of the power supply and graphics card, you would need:

CPU
Motherboard
Memory
and potentially case
 
I would upgrade your cpu long before you upgrade your gpu for arma 2. There are people out there with gts 250's that are getting same fps as gtx 460's just because they have a better cpu.

Arma 2 is sooooo much more of a cpu hog than most games out there. If your going to do this bit by bit, i would start with cpu. Gpu is not going to do anything without a cpu top back it up.


As for playing dayz at 60fps. Is this maxed or low?

Whilst is is more CPU dependant, a 520 is a POS sitting in between a GT 210 and 220 in terms of performance and in this case is holding OP back far more than the CPU is, which says a lot when we are talking Athlon 64 x2.

The people with the 250's have cards several times as powerful as the 520 here is
 
AMD Athon Dual core with new video card isn't going help that much. The reason why the game isn't getting up to 60 FPS is because of CPU. You would be better off getting new motherboard, RAM and CPU. Unless with new video card and PSU, you will have to make it low setting until new CPU and motherboard.
