hi there ..
I've six USB sockets ( 3 Groups) .. I wanna know the version off them because my computer says that 2 of them ar 1.1 and one of 'em 2.0.. is that possible ??
and how to know which socket is 1 and which is 2 ??

thanks in advance

If you look on the MoBo itself, each of the MoBo ports will be labeled. Yes, it is possible to have both speeds on the same system. 2.0 has been around for a while though, so in order to have the slower one, you'd have to have an older system or older USB PCI Card.

yes I found them .. but they are all labeled as usb 1 ..!!

I can read these labels:
- USB 1
- LAN_USB1
- FRONT_USB1

that's confusing
are they all USB1.. although my computer says that there is a USB2
and I found it .. it's the one labeled with LAN_USB1

Look in your Device Manager under your USB controllers. See if it has a listing for a Standard USB host controller and one for Enhanced USB host controller. The Enhanced controller is your 2.0

you're right .. thanx.. and EHCI stands for Enhanced USB host controller .. I think !
but my problem isn't with Device Manager .. :)
I was tryin to figure out wich USB port is 2.0.. and I did it with a silly method :o by disabling the ports one by one..

I wanna know what are these additional USB controlers:

Code:
USB Composite Device
USB Root Hub
USB Root Hub
USB Root Hub

My brand new K9NBPM2-FID has 4 onboard USB and my case has 2 on the front, the on board registered as USB 1.1 before installing the drivers, where the case ports registered as 2.0.. explain that :D

Just pointing out that it's possible for a newer mobo to have both types, or be running at two different speeds, due to the specific drivers required for on board/extension ports.

this is really strange .. for me :D
my USBs are ( all ) work at the same speed  .. and it's almost about 13 MB/Sec..
