Network Places - Why are my network locations appearing under "The Internet"?

bugs

Hi,

Every time I share a folder on my PC, it appears under the network location "The Internet" on my wife's PC (i.e. rather than under Local Network).

I'm connected via a Netgear Router which also provides the internet connection.

Would be grateful for any advice.

Thanks in advance...

well, sorry to barge in on your thread, but would it be possible to link both my computers through my wireless router? one is hardwired to it, the other is wireless currently

This seems to be normal with Cable/DSL routers setup that share a internet connection and LAN connection thru the router.

yes is is possible and yes you should have started your own thread.

yea i know what you are saying. on my comaputer they are under internet connections as for my wifes and my sons is under network connection as in my laptop. im sure it has something to do with running the network setup wizard but as long as it works i havnt bothered with it .
