New video card only gives black and white on tv

Hello,
I have just upgraded my video card and now only get black and white on the tv. My old card was nvidia and I used a s-video to rca composite adapter (4 pin) for the tv and never had any problems. My new card is ATI and with the same adapter gives only a black and white picture on the tv. I have set the resolution to 800x600 and refresh rate to 60 Hz. The tv is also set up for NTSC in the United States region. I have read many forums on this type of problem and tried various changes...updated drivers, updated the catalyst software, looked through advanced settings and such...all to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated.

May I ask what the brand is? I used to have the same problem on an ATI Radeon, I bought new cables and it worked great. Blurry on the TV though. :(

It is the MSI RX1300pro-td256e (radeon). If I buy new cables, should the s-video be the 7 pin as some have suggested to others w/ the same problem in older forums, or have the 4 pin become more standard?

The black round plug on the back of those cards arent S-Video, their component. Unless you bought an OEM card, it should have come with cabled that convert it to the 3 component cables, and an S-Video cable.

OK,
I replaced all of the cords and adapters and now it's in color. It doesn't make sense to me, but I'm just happy it works...Thank you all for your assistance. ---Would anyone happen to know what hotkey feature in catalyst to setup so that I can send a single app to the tv?

The chords were probably just having bad connections, i had that with my old fx5500 and s-video before. Just had to wiggle the connection a bit.

Can anyone tell me if there are any nvidia cards with similar characteristics as the agp ones...connections are simple and problem free, hotkeys can be setup in a few minutes to toggle a single app between monitor and tv, and both displays show the background and all apps scaled to size to fit? This is the first time I've tried an ATI card and it's been nothing but a pain...the color issue, the problems with videos, and this f---ing catalyst software:mad:
