NFS: Shift 2 runs and looks like crap!!!!

I have a 6950 with unlocked shaders. I also have the latest drivers. I have to set half of the games settings to mediujm and the other half to high, and even then it slows down constantly, not to mention the game looks like absolute dog shit. I have read other places where people are getting 60fps on max settings with a 6950. What gives?
 
The first game is an nvidia slanted game, I guess the second one is too. Same with Batman AA and most other EA titles.

Reason I didn't buy them too. Personally this practice only hurts PC gaming and empowers companies to abuse us when they get away with it.

I tried the game at a friends place, the controls were really bad also. The game can't make up it's mind whether it wants to be a sim or arcade racer either.
