I am looking for a nice racing game and therefore I would like to hear if you could recommend any such games?

I like Need for Speed Most Wanted much better than Carbon. FlatOut 2 is also a great game. There's also Race Driver 3 and Live for Speed if you like more realistic racing games.
 
I do not play many Racing games, but I can recommend NFS underground 2 & NFS Most wanted. Carbon is a decent game but Most Wanted was a better game (In my opinion).
 
Flatout 2 is realy good.

You can race + Online races

Derby and much more,Its probably a game i will never get fed up with.
 
Need For Speed Most Wanted is a great racing game, Carbon is a good game havent tried it on pc just on a friends Xbox, the Flatout series is good only tried one havent tried two yet but heard it was good.
 
TOCA race driver 3 is amazing

i have it for ps2, and it's got everything, from gocarts to formula one to rally, to rallycross, to monster trucks, to prototype lemans type cars, to plain old GT street cars

and it actually uses a clutch......... how sweet is that?
 
have you looked into GTR 2? that game seems to be getting really good rating. i downloaded the demo and it looks awesome. Its really realistic.
