Nintendo 3DS release in NZ

Very exciting is the new Nintendo 3DS, which is being released tomorrow in New Zealand, unfortunately those who aren't billionaires will have to hand over around $479.00 NZ which is around $357.00 US.

Keeping in mind a PS3 160GB is about $589.00 NZ and an xbox 360 will set you back more or less depending on where you go and the DS is only a handheld.

I love gaming but wonder if the manufacturers are aware how much the NZ retailers are hiking up the prices to maximize profits and ruin the fun for those who just can't afford to buy at these prices.

The closest I will get is the shiny blue photo in this post. (end of rant)

£200 over here for a 3DS

New Xbox - £160
New PS3 - £230

The prices are ridiculous everywhere

It is the same with everything though, you pay the premium to get it first, then prices come down so it appeals more to the masses
