No clue what to buy next help me.

Ok Here goes the listing and the reasoning

New Monitor, Right now im running i think i 15in and it would be nice to have a bigger one, althought nothing is wrong with this monitor right now except the size

HD- Right now i have a 40gb ide based H.D My new mother board can support sata 3.0 gb and i would like to give it a shot with a 100gb hd, the only problem is i do not ever come close to filling this 40gb hd as of now

Ram- Right now im running corsair dual channel xms 2x512, it would just be nice to have 2 gigs.

Video Card-The only game i really play at all is americas army, with my integrated graphics card nvidia 6100 i can push 40-60 frames per second with all the setting on normal.

Should i even update these things now? or just wait untill i feel the need for them?
 
If everything's working fine for you then there's no point to upgrade. Save the money and do something else with it. You could get a bigger LCD screen, seeing 15" is quite small.

yeah thats all i really want, right now im looking at 21in crts for 100.00
 
15" monitor is okay but 17" is pretty much standard now and 19" is quickly gaining popularity,

If you dont fill up that 40GB now, it is still wise to buy a bigger one before you run out of space. I recommend 80GB or 100GB if you dont want to spend too much.

1GB of memory is just fine. 2GB should only be needed if you do video editing or play very intensive games like Battlefield 2.

Integrated graphics suck for games. You may be getting 40-60 FPS but you really should invest in a gfx card if you plan on gaming.
 
I would first upgrade the moniter now, then once you start to fill up your HD and need more room get a new SATA HD(You can get a 300gb sata1 for 100$)
 
yeah i think i will go for the monitor, and then if i do any intense gaming, but i doubt it then i will get a card, any ideas on monitors? i dont want to spend to much ...think i should go with the reburbished 21in for 100? its a crt with a 1 yr warranty

Have you noticed how many more 19" monitors are sold than 17"? Or even how many more are available?

Yes 19" are becoming quite popular but if you got to Dell.com or any other OEM, 17" are the more popular choice because the Price/Performance ratio for 17" is higher than 19". When having 19" monitors makes business sense to Dell or HP and 19" monitors get to have a lower price range then you will start to see OEM PCs coming with 19" as a standard but as of right now 17" are the choice, just go to Hp.com and customize one of the Presario PC models, there is a $10-$15 difference between the 15" and 17" LCD but a $100 difference between 17 and 19. Sure newegg and prolly other PC hardware sites have and sell more 19" monitors but the general PC user doesnt go a buy different parts for their PC. They usually keep the parts that they bought which now will most likely have a 17" inch LCD or possibly a CRT if they get the cheaper models. Really the only large screens are on Dells XPS and other high-performance machines which sell much less.
 
i was at the micro center today looking at 19'' monitors, they are huge, maybe even to big let alone the 21 im thinking on buying. what are you thoughts?

you dont think it will be to big? i mean those damn things are monsterous...you think its a good buy? are they specs good?
 
If you want a large monitor it would probably be better to get LCD, they are more expensive but they are nice and small. I've found a few for under $300

first off why would i want an lcd if im going large?
 
Specs are fine, the screensize wont be to big, you will like it, and if you mean to big as is the whole dementions as in depth and such, thjat would depend on the moniter, the newer oens arn't as big. Does it list dementions anywhere?

Actully...Where di you find that? I would like one myself, not a bad price, and I would like to get a bigger one then this 17inch, and one with a higher res, which that would have.

well LCDs are much lighter, MUCH thinner, use less power, usually pretty bright, and sharper than CRTs. A 21" CRTs viewable area is around 19"-20". You can get a 19 or 20" LCD for less than $300 and ive seen 19" LCDs for less than $200.

yeah but thats all, i dont care about the size and weight, i just want a good looking screen, crts offer better color depth as of now.
