Old pirate game

It is an old adventure game. You are a pirate, you start on a boat and start discovering items that you use them later. The first item is a coin I think. Then you go in a city and so on. Help me find it.

I remember a pirate game do you hear "on guard" alot and you get on ships and stuff. Was a long time ago so my memory is quite vague.

Thought I'd just chime in and say that the first two Monkey Island games are available as Special Editions on Steam. They just had a sale on the bundle, but now it is back at about $15. I recommend getting them. Hopefully they'll give every Monkey Island game the SE treatment.
