PC Gamer's Top 5 Pet Peeves

Must say I have to agree. Even valve only jsut let us get rid of mouse acceleration without having to modify any files :)

Oh I'm sorry, I guess Valve should be busy working on mouse acceleration instead of making stonking great games.

Understandable.

I'm with you in the sense that these seem like rudimentary things that should be addressed, but after programing games myself, sometimes getting multimonitor (or other complaints) support just seems impossible and it really does go down on the list of important matters.

Long story short, the demographic is 99% single monitor, 800dpi mouse using dumbasses who just want to shoot things.

That was quite a good list and I agree with it.
I like games that I can alt-tab out of so I can talk on msn/steam (I have 2 screens so obviously I have convo's on second) or change song etc etc and when I alt-tab or just go back in, the screen isn't black.
Mouse acceleration, yes, very annoying, but to do with the sensitivity I haven't seen 1 game that hasn't let me change it... I think. And yes I have quite a few games lol.

Oh and Kobaj, just 'cause we don't like to spend money on a super sweet mouse doesn't mean we are dumbasses lol.:D

If you play games with the source engine there's a neat trick so you can alt tab and win tab easily. go to the launch options of the game in steam and add:

-window 1 -noborder

and hit ok :good:

Oh and There's aren't my peeves, just someone else's, though I do agree with most of them. I doubt I'll ever have more than one nice monitor for gaming, just too expensive

i agree with the multi monitor thing. i don't anymore, but used to have two monitors. i would have liked to watch family guy on one screen and play css on the other. both full screen. that would be sweet.

i don't think i've come across this mouse acceleration that they mention, but they make a big deal about it.

i also hate drm. i bought the first call of duty 4: modern warfare soon after it came out, but had to return it because of drm. haven't bought any activision games since. their loss.

oh and kobaj, i don't think they were talking about the bargain bin games. it's the 21st century, get with the times.
i'm still waiting for my flying car and artificial weather :P

#1: Not making PC games...

I think that the only way to play video games in the future will be through PC. The current generation of consoles is supposed to last at least another 5 years, and all the rumors buzzing around Sony that their will be no PS4.. Leads you to wonder if this is really the last of the console days...?

With the way counsels are gaining momentum? I doubt it. PCs are the dying breed right now. Just look at the trends, 5-10 years ago PC games were dominant and ports were being made for counsels. Now all games are developed for counsels and ported (usually horribly) to PCs.
