PCI-E Compatible

Heyy.....

Just wondering what it means to be PCI Express COMPATIBLE? I know what PCI-E is but I bought a new mobo and it says all the specs....like PCI x1, PCI, etc and then says PCI-E x 16 (compatible)....so does it work with pci-e 16 cards or not?

It is a Biostar NF61s Micro AM2 SE mobo

Yes, it means it has a PCI-E x16 slot. The only thing I can think of for why it says "compatible", sit hat it may run at 4x or 8x speed, however is compatible with x16 cards.
