Picture editing?

You have one already in your windows, the paintbrush, you can crop, copy, re-size, and change the brightness, contrast, etc... and a lot of other features.

If you try resizing the picture from the working space, you are actually croping not resizing. At the corner of the photo, you will find a small box, roll over with your mouse, click and drag, you are croping although all other photo editing programs use this technique to resize :D Microsoft must have it's own touch too

I only use Paint for worthless quick screenshots, it's completely horrible at compressing jpgs.

Compared to other programs yes, but it does reduce the file size by quite a lot.

I agree with you about using gimp though. Once used to the interface, it's excellent.

i know it's been done...

i know it's already been said a time or two, but i just wanted to reiterate how friggin' cool the gimp truly is. and the interface has made some definate improvement with the later versions.

if you haven't played with the gimp, do yourself a favour and check it out...

I went to the site and stuff..it looks ok I suppose. I will stick with Photoshop :D.
