Hey guys,

I'm building a computer for my brother and I am having trouble figuring out what order the wires go in on the motherboard...

I have this motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131046

and below are the names on the wires and also snapshots from the manual of where I think they go (if I was wrong, please let me know what snapshot you need and I will post it here) ...

First set of wires - USB
GND 1
Data -1
Data +2
VCC 1

Second Set of wires - USB
GND 2
Data -2
Data +2
VCC 2

Third set of wires - Sound?
Mic-Bias
GND
Mic-In
R-In
R-Out
L-Out
L-In

If someone could please match these up for me I would really appreciate it!

Thanks!

The newer cases should have the cables for the external usb all in one connector and only one way that it will fit on the connector, but if yours don't then its simple. using header usb78 as an example

gnd1 to gnd
data -1 to usb p8-
data +1 to usb p8+
vcc1 to usb +5v

gnd2 to gnd
data -2 to usb p7-
data +1 to usb p7+
vcc2 to usb +5v

as far as mic connections, this should work for you....using the legacy ac97 connector

mic-in to mic2
mic bias to mic pwr
gnd to agnd
r-out to line out_r
l-out to line out_l
