Hello

I just watched this video on how to download this mod for minecraft. Now everytime I open my minecraft just before it gets to the bit where it says: Single Player, Multiplayer, Texture Pack it crashes. During the video he says to delete a certain folder from minecraft.jar (Can't remember the name of it), which I did. It still crashes. I have spent loads of time on my world and now it's gone so any help would be much appreciated.

Well, first of all, go to C:\Users\<Your username>\AppData\Roaming\Minecraft

You will find your save files in there. Save them elsewhere. Also, to see the AppData folder, you'll have to enable hidden folder viewing.

Then, in minecraft, at the login, click..options, I think it is, and choose force update. Then login. That should fix your jar file.

Just a note, doing the force update doesn't delete your save files, I just said to back them up as a precaution.

OK, thanks :D. Now I can open my world...but something really, really weird happened. All the brick in my house is now a mixture of fire, brick and that purple stuff from a Nether Portal. My fire (coming of a netherak) is now some message written backwards on what looks like a piece of paper! WTF!?!

Are you using a texture pack? That will happen if you use blocks that aren't specified in the texture pack.
 
Yes I am, I'm using Dokucraft. It is specified because I used this Texture Pack earlier today and I could see the bricks just fine.

It must have something to do with the mod I tried to download???
