Problem solved

I posted a question here asking for help improving the wifi signal to my guess house last month, and I just wanted all to know I solved my low signal and line quality problem.

I had a repeater in a window to boost my unsecure signal to our guest house 100 feet away and had the antenna from the guest house PC in a window there. It was a clean line of sight, but the signal was low and the connection was weak and would cyr in and out.

I decided to install a directTV dish to the antenna from the guest house pc and place the antenna in a empty dog treat plastic can to keep it dry.
The signal is 97%, the internet works great, videos are very good and connects as soon as I turn on the pc.
If anyone is interested I'll post a picture of the dish.

The only problem is the dish creates an extreamly narrow beam which is very tricky to point it at my router 150 feet away, through four walls in my house.
It's almost like a laser beam by the very directional dish on the side of the guesthouse by the window.
Anyone that sees it just thinks it's a DirectTV antenna, but it's not.

And I disconnected the repeater, I don't need it anymore to boost the wifi signal.

The dish was old unused directtv, the cable is an 30' extension cable to my wireless PC card, the antenna is the short antenna off the wireless card and placed inside a Dog Treat plastic can and the home made insert at the end of the dish arm was cut from a pressure treated 2x4, the unit is hot glued in place and the dog treat can was painted gray to match the dish.

It works very well to provide internet to the guest house in case someone wants it.

If you look close you can see the rubber band still on the plastic can. I used it to move the antenna up towards the dish, and the pressure treated adapter can be slid in or out from the dish to pinpoint the signal.

It takes about an hour to create and about an hour to point it where you need it.
