Processor ??

Hey guys just curious how I can find out what kind of proccesor I have. I actually want to upgrade it, but I noticed when I was looking at them they were like amd 64, I dont know if my cpu will support it. I actually downloaded PC Wizard and it says like 1800+ running at 1330 or so, but Nothing about what kind of sockets???? I have, any help would be great. Thanks again guys

well if you have windows xp

you can click on start bring up your options
click on "control panel"
then click on "system" then click on hardware then device manager
look down list until you see processor
click on the cross next to it-sholud tell you what kind of chip it is

i think its an athlon xp 1.8+ socket A
but if you get the spec of processor and post it some one will tell u what it is in here or you could just google it
 
i had an 1800 Palmero.... you can very easily OC'it to 1.5Ghz with a single swap of the FSB frequecy in the BIOS.

For an upgrade, id have a look on ebay for a Barton 3200 or the like, or mabey an XP-M 2500 or the like.

then again, you may want to check your finaces and get a full upgrade.
