PS3 Lag

So when playing games online I get a serious amount of lag. Im pretty sure it's due to my router being in my basement and ps3 being on the second of floor of my house. So the reception is not that great. So my question is if I were to plug this into my ps3 would it extend the wifi reception?

How is that gonna be recognized by the ps3? Most likely you will have to get a repeater or a second router and run a cable between the 2 to extend your wireless.
