Not 30 minutes ago did my PSU die. Fizzing, popping, the norm I'd guess. I took off the side cover, and in the heat of the moment didn't pull AC. I heard some fizzing coming from the DVD-rom, so I pulled the power dongles, disconnected the 20+4pin motherboard connector, and unplugged the power. I figure the "soft power" was sucking current through a jacked voltage regulator... I know A PSU that dies hard can damage other components, And I've never experienced a PSU death at all, So I've no hands on experience.. Does it sound likely that other components have been damaged? I could care less for the DVD drive but if my primary HDD, CPU, RAM or video card have been fuskered I'm going to be one sad camper.
I don't have an extra PSU laying around so I'll have to wait till payday and order one up from Newegg or something. It would just be a big let-down to get the P/S and find out the rest of my PC is gone belly up..... I'd appreciate any and all input.
Thanks
