Questions about Half Life 2

Well, I beat the game. It is a wonderful amazing game, but I have a few questions...

1. What was Black Maisa about? You hear of it, but what was it, where was it and why was it important? What did Freeman do?

2. what did Barny have to do with it?

I have also played episode 1. when will Episode 2 be coming out?

To truly understand you need to play half life 1, but Ill try to help out.

HL1 took place in black mesa research facility, Barny worked there as a security guard and in the original game you could get him to follow you around and he would help. Anywho, one day in black mesa you where preforming an experiment with a teleporter and it blew up which caused other realm 'bad guys' to come through and enslave the human race, zombies came too.

Thats the 'dumbed down' version.

Gimme a little while and I can find this old timeline type website which was pritty cool on how it explained the storyline of the whole half life series.

If you already have the full version of HL2 you can easily click on the install for HL1 as well as "Lost Coast" which was one section left out of HL2. These are free addons once you create the user account you logon with. Black Mesa did you say? And I was waiting to post these in the screenshot contest.

Shortly after Gordon Freeman arrives and is sent into the teleport chamber in a special envronment suit(sound familiar?) there are some...



Freeman was a theoritical physicist from MIT that gets caught up in an "interdimensional rift" where he ends up being a "bug"(head crab) bunter as he tries to find a way out of a real disaster. Once he manages to get upto the surface from the large underground complex he fights off soldiers and gunships to then find himself in some other dimension.

Besides HL2 and EP1 the "wait" is still on for a EP2. To see several screens already posted for both HL2 and EP1 go through the screenshot contest from page #15 up! A good number are there to look at.

Umm, you need to get your facts straight PC eye.

The second screenshot is the room outside of the test chamber. The character on the left is NOT Dr.Breen "The Administrator". The african american man is Alyx's father though, Dr.Vance. The man on the right (pictured twice, once standing and behind that he is sitting) is NOT Kleiner. All the men in that shot DIE from the experiment going awry, except for Dr.Vance of course. I could go on with the other screen shots and such, but I feel I should leave you with a little dignity. Sorry, I just like the HL series to much.
Ive never played the source version of HL but I heard it was a huge disappointment and the original was better. But there is a mod coming out called blackmesa source. Some people were not satisfied with HLsource so they remade it. Ill let you read about it.

One of the main reasons besides the lack of realistic graphics seen in this version is the repetition of so many characters in the various parts. Every security guard looks like "Barney". It wasn't until HL2 that names were even specified where Freeman again meets those that remembered him from there. They wrote those parts in when making the sequel. There were character names except names on lockers seen there. Freeman is clearly named at the opening. Now age Breen so many years and .....
