Questions about PS3.

Hello everyone. Im new here. Found this forum on google(my best friend). HAHA!

I am thinking to get a new console.
I like more the xbox 360 because it has got more online user and more games. But one of my friends told me that maybe it is good to buy xbox360 NOW but after a year or longer xbox wont be able to run new games.
the future games will be much larger in size, much better graphic, much better games overall and they will need a system like PS3 since it has got 7 x SPE running @3.2GHz and Blueray discs. but xbox360 can only read DVD´s and it has only 3 cores running @ 3.2 GHz each. Well, 7 is about 2,3 times bigger.

What do you think?

Did anyone understand my questions?

Welcome to the forums.
I think i understand your question.

They are going to keep making games for xbox 360 (for a few more years)...for example, right now, they still make games for ps2.

Disregard that bit about the 360 not being able to play new games. With consoles, specs < optimization. Meaning that sure, the PS3 has a better spec sheet, that doesn't mean the 360 won't keep up. Expect the 360 to continue to make games that are on par, graphically, with PS3 games.

Regarding blu-ray.. It's handy, and Sony, and other first-party developers will take advantage of it, But the multi-platform dudes can't to an extant, As they have more than one console to worry about. And considering most games released for any console is of the third-party, multi-platform type, it just cements that point. Compression will help to alleviate the DVD-capacity bottleneck, it won't work forever, but it's still good.
