Restoring saves?

I finished skyrim (i.e. all major questlines) a few months ago, and uninstalled it, but with Dawnguard I reinstalled it, but my old saves were gone......... Is there any way to restore them, I had over 180 hrs of gameplay. If you know of a way to find them again or link me to a save creator/editor that would be greatly appreciated.

I assume you are on Win 7. If so, they will have been in:

C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves

If they aren't there, use it as a lesson in backing up and why it should be done with files that are important to you
