RTS Games?

So recently ive been getting into RTS games,Been playing Supreme commander 2,Not a bad game at all....although the AI is a bit dodgy and units often become stuck in places and dont do anything even when i tell them too. :D

Ive got Starcraft 2,Another fantastic...

What other RTS games would you guys recommend?...free would be even better (If any exist):D

dawn of war seriesw, cant speak for the second set but the first is amazing

company of heroes is another classic

warcraft 3 and frozen throne if you wnat to go retro

C&C is always a classic

halo wars ( i think thats on pc)

total war series is pretty cool
 
Sadly I hear Activision is closing Warcraft 3 online (which made the game great) so I wouldn't bother buying it now. Offline it was good but online it was a classic due to all the mods you could play.

Warcraft series (not the MMO obviously)

Dawn of war Series
Fallout Tactics
Dune (the one that started the genre)
Commando Series
Empire Earth
Axis and Allies the RTS version

Age of Empires

Proof or it didn't happen.

I can not +1 enough company of heroes, it is a top game to say the least
 
I've always been a fan of Command & Conquer games. I'd receommend C&C: The First Decade which has all of the C&C games/expansions up to and including Generals. You can get it for less than $20.
 
Total War isnt really a RTS though...

But aside from that it is a fully awesome series and well worth a look if your interested.
 
The entire Age Of Empires series, and be sure to try out Age of Mythology as well, it's still cool despite being 6 years old :D imo AOM was the best game ES made, AOE3 took a lot of AOE features out and imo replaced them with a lot of graphics :(

No, it is not.

Both have the same parent company, Vivendi, but that is as far as they go. Both have separate management, both have different members of staff, both have different everything but their parent company. Blizz have no say in Activision, Activision have no say in Blizz

Ive actually just found out a copy of Company of heroes from under my bed :D

I think i got it when i purchased my 8800GT....never even played it yet,still sealed :D

Had a great game of SC2 this morning.

I preferred AOE3 to be honest, everything was more fun and worked better.

I'd recommend Settlers as well, Settlers 3 I liked the best, but just about all of them are great. I haven't played the latest though (yet :P)
