saving game and checkpoints?

This is probably gonna be a stupid question, but is it possible to save my game, including the checkpoints so I can transfer them to my new computer. Its an old game (far cry). I got it because it will play with mediocre settings on my laptop. I realize its not the kinda game to really make the most of my new desktop, but I would like to play it on there and hopefully without starting all over. btw, I downloaded it through Steam, so that may complicate things? Thanks

According to the Far Cry article on TweakGuide, the savegames can be found in the "\Far Cry\Profiles\player\[Profile name]\savegames" directory (when installed from the retail version). So you'd probably find it in the "\Steam\steamapps\common\Far Cry\Profiles\player\[Profile name]\savegames\" directory. Just copy that profile folder over to the same place on your desktop computer.
