Seeking New Computer Advice

Hello, I am looking to purchase a new computer that'll be sufficient for gaming. I am looking to primarily play the new starcraft game but I can't seem to find any official specs out there. It's been a while since I've gamed or bought a new system (2005) so I am a little out of touch with what's important. I'd like to try and keep it under $1,000 and get something that is also good for everday use as well (i.e. Internet, Media Storage, Microsoft package). Based on my limited research I think I need the following:
- Intel Core i5 processer or better
- 8GB Ram
- 1GB NVIDIA graphics card

I'd appreciate any help you can provide.
Thanks

Posted in the wrong section :) Please post in the "Desktop Computers" sections for all your computer build needs.

Yep. But here are the minimum system specs anyway :L

Windows® XP/Windows Vista®/Windows® 7 (Updated with the latest Service Packs) with DirectX® 9.0c
2.6 GHz Pentium® IV or equivalent AMD Athlon® processor
128 MB PCIe NVIDIA® GeForce® 6600 GT or ATI Radeon® 9800 PRO video card or better
12 GB available HD space
1 GB RAM (1.5 GB required for Windows Vista®/Windows® 7 users)
DVD-ROM drive
Broadband Internet connection
1024X720 minimum display resolution

Those are the bare minimum. You'll need at least 2GB of RAM for recommended - and yes, this was posted in the wrong place :good:

You don't need 8GB of RAM, get 4/6GB of DDR3 at a decent speed (1600), you could get a hex-core AMD for the price of the top-of-the-range i5, I would go with an X4 955, OC it.

Your card doesn't have to be nVidia, personally my choice is ATI, try the HD 5770 :)

Actually, I was looking to buy a pre-assembled laptop. I don't have the knowledge or patience to try and build something. Thanks
