Serious Gaming

So I've been getting annoyed lately about playing objective based games, and not being on teams with serious or skilled people. I've considered a clan, but that's annoying too, since most of them require you to play against them, which I don't like doing, even though I'm more than confident I'm just as good, if not better than them. I guess I just don't like the clan scene. I was wondering if there was a site/group that would share the similarities of a clan, without actually being one. Personally, I'd like to join a site and be around other gamers as serious as me, and join servers for people who are serious about the game. While looking for something, I thought about maybe making it. I wouldn't mind.. I've got the time, money for the site, and maybe a few servers, though I don't know what the demand is. So for now I'm just seeing what's out there.

I've thought about just posting in forums and messaging people, but then that isn't much different than joining a random server.

Anyone know of anything?

What games are you thinking of playing? If you want a serious game take a look at America's Army 3. It's pretty hardcore and not many little kiddies play it.

I can't seem to find a good clan either. everyone just runs around and does their own thing with clan tags tacked on their name.

I mean hell, if there seems to be a little bit of a demand, I'll gladly give it a go.. I just don't want to go through and setup a site, and not have it do so well. But I guess that's part of running a site.

And as for games, it would be anything. Anything competitive with an objective. And it's not that I'm looking for a serious game, I just want to play with serious people. I want to be able to fully cooperate with my whole team in Bad Company and take over the MCOMs. I want to be able to strategically win in Search and Destroy in MW2. But I don't want to join a clan, and joining random servers sucks.

I know, and theirs all the hackers that just ruin everything.

Well I'm mainly talking about joining a BC2 Rush server, and being on a team that isn't serious about winning. Yes, it's just a game, but people like me enjoy winning and being good at something you enjoy. I don't want the responsibilities of joining a clan with mandatory matches and all of that, and that's if they allow you to join, it's BS, IMO.

I'm going to look around though, see what I can find. I'll be sure to post back here.

Have you heard of ESEA?

Not entirely sure but this might be what you're looking for. Mostly for counterstrike though. Im pretty sure it costs money too :-/ I havent used it but a close friend (Tuxify if you remember him) uses it.

if you host your own clan maybe you should hold a "tryout" type thing for newcomers to see if they are serious about it or not... ooh, maybe a cf-wide tryout for gamer's clan?

A CF clan has been tried at least twice now, and has failed...at least twice now :P People start up all up for it, but what started out as 20 people saying yea I'll do it, soon turns into just 3 or 4.

With clans though, I think you are fitting most in with the sterotype of a "serious" clan, or have had a bad experience. There are plenty of clans where it is free to be a member and donating to keep the site/server up is optional, not obligatory, and where scrims are entirely optional, yet plentiful, and members take the game seriously.

However with alot of clans you will find what you said is true to a point. There are a fair few that are like what you are after, but most tend to play the game seriously in matches, but then go back to being relaxed, playing for fun and not careing too much if they win or lose in the public server.

You have to remember too that clans want their servers populated as much as they can, for recruitment and so whatever time of day they can go in and have a game without having to wait to get public in and the server going. Would you stay in a server where you are constantly getting your arse kicked? Most public won't so would rather leave and find a server with less experienced players, so the server dies if clan members give it their all and play tactically in their public server, unless there are good players in that are trying to do the same.

One thing which has been mentioned on here before but never been followed up is the idea of having a CF TS server. I can't do that, however, my CoD clan has recently made our TS public to hopefully get more traffic through. If you want to get a group of people together that play the games properly as a team, I would be happy to give you the info and you can go in there with them, even the players that usually play just for fun and run and gun start playing the game properly if you can get some proper communication going. I dunno if it would help or give you what you are looking for, but without a clan, it is pretty much teh best you will get

+1.
Although I mainly play on Australian AA3 servers, I have noted that all-round people generally stick as a team and such. You will almost always find a bunch of people who will work as a team on AA3, so I do suggest it.
Very objective based game, win by taking objectives rather than run 'n' gun.

I can't even remember the website anymore.

cf-clan.co.cc

It isn't going any more

If you do, remember your location difference. Voice servers aren't a biggy, but game servers may pose an issue, as if they are in america, you will get lag, if they are in europe, he will get lag

Isn't co.cc free web domains?
Expired either on 5th April or the 4th May, can't tell the date format. Besides, servers cost money/ad space
