Server not found??? argh!!!!

Hello folks.

for as long as i can remeber now maybe 6 months or so, I have a problem when i connect to the internet. NOW - my comp always connects to the internet no probs, but on some occasions my homepage nor any other website will open, instead it says ------

Server not found

Firefox can't find the server at www.computerforum.com.

* Check the address for typing errors such as
ww.example.com instead of
www.example.com

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make
surethat Firefox is permitted to access the Web.


this has become more frequent of late, but very temporary. one minute it says the above then i keep trying and then it will open as normal??

I would be gratefull for any suggestions as to what i may be doing wrong or help.

check your browser settings to see that they match your type of internet connection and check your network connection to see that you are properly connected to the internet

Try using Internet Explorer.

If still doesn't work, maybe your pc is infected with virus/spyware. I was infected by a virus that prevented me from accessing website.

interent explorer is okay and does work , but is soooo slow. (dial up)

I run my adaware program every week so i dont think i have spyware. is this correct.
