Looking to startup ol Sim City again, I have 3 but can get 4 for like $20. Whcih is better IYO and why? Also are both Vista compat?

simcity 4 is drastically better then 3000.
for one there are larger cities, a city from 3000 is equivalent to a medium sized city in 4, there are also small cities which are 1/4th that size, and large cities that are 1.25 times that size. you play on regions full of cities with each one effecting its neighboring cities. if you have a really big city, and start a new one next to it with connections to the large one, it will quickly grow as people move from the big city to the new one, or they will work in the neighboring city. If you want to, you could even make a region of tiny cities and have each one with only one type of zoning, the citizens would commute to the neighboring cities for work etc. could think of a region (which can be custom made to provide as many cities as you want) as one huge city, and all the cities in it could represent boroughs in the city.
simcity 4 is also quite a bit harder. but it makes it more fun, and realistic.
as for vista compatibility,
unpatched and without the Rush Hour expansion, it crashes a lot.
but if you install the Rush Hour expansion, its nice and stable.
the official patch without the rush hour expansion might work too. don't know.
