The temperatures are not that different for me. My motherboard has BIOS 0504.

Below are the results for IDLE and STRESS. The clock speed is fixed at 3493 MHz in both cases.

Just updated BIOS for ASUS Prime X370-Pro from 0504 to 0511.

The 2666HHz RAM used to only run at 2133MHz. Now I can get it stable at 2400MHz.
The 1700X is still overclocked to 4.0GHz.

HWInfo now shows the temperature for the CPU (Tctl) and CPU have almost the same value where before there was a 5 degree difference.

Intel is still going to perform slightly better in gaming, I don't see that changing really for this generation of CPU's. People just hear that Intel will do slightly better and instantly assume Ryzen sucks at gaming even if the difference isn't more that 5-10 percent or noticeable in most configurations. It doesn't suck, it's just not quite as fast but crushes the Intel chips in almost all other workloads.

Think I need some different RAM. Month after launch and still BSOD when switching between tasks of varying load. Swapped in a couple HyperX sticks from a friend and it's flawless.

True, but I'd trade 10 FPS for better multitasking performance and better Cinebench and Fire Strike scores.
(sorry I've only seen that now)

Why trade real performance in applications you utilize (gaming) for points in synthetic benchmarks?

Because I game at 4k 60hz so why would I need 100fps when 60 would look exactly the same? Plus I want to start a Youtube channel in the future and Ryzen will offer way lower rendering times

Well it only took close to 2 months but my RAM is now stable at rated speeds with the latest BIOS. Kind of already talked myself into replacing it with something faster but probably not worth it.
