Somethings changed?

Hi,

I just installed a new motherboard and case but I gutted my old computer and put everything from it in the new case and motherboard.

My processor is a AMD Athlon XP 2400+ and it said it was on my system information when it was in my old computer.

However, now that it's in the new one it says its an AMD Athlon XP 1800+

I don't have any of the windows updates yet, could that be the problem?

How do I do that?
Is it in the options when I press F2 when it boots up?

Depends on the motherboard, alot you keep pressing delete, what board do you have, suppost to be running at a 266 FSB, might be listed as 133 or 266

It's an ASROCK K7NF2-RAID...

So I go into the bios by pressing F2 when it boots and then change the CPU frequencie...

What to though?

266x9

or

133x15
 
Dont have to worry about the X just set the FSB to 133 it might be listed as 266, Dual Data Rate 133X2=266, some bios list them as 100-133-166-200 other list it as 200-266-333-400
 
I entered the bios and I the CPU frequency was set to auto and the auto amount was 100mhz. The range that it could be changed between is 100 - 300 mhz.

I've been told that the Athlon XP 2400+ is either 133mhz or 266 mhz.

However I tried both of these and saved and exited and my computer doesn't boot, The screen goes off and it doesn't boot, it is on though becasuse the fans and everything are going.

I restart it and change the CPU frequency back to Auto and it works...

How do I get it to work, it is a 2400+ but it shows up as a 1800+?

Please help :(
 
I've set it to that and nothing happens.
The screen goes off and the computer does nothing, despite being on...

I Archangel suggested setting the optimal settings option on the BIOS. I did this and it didn't do anything, it still says it a 2400+...
