Some background:
Yesterday, I was downloading an .flv file using Maxthon internet browser, and at the same time browsing the internet using IE. A bunch of pages started to pop up really fast (I'm pretty sure IE pages, not Maxthon). The more I tried to stop it, the more came. Finally, I opened task manager and ended a process that looked suspicious. That seemed to have stopped it. I ran CCleaner first, then SUPERAntiSpyware and Spybot S&D, then McAfee Antivirus. Nothing came up. Then I shut down the comp.
Today, no sound is coming out of my computer. It's not on mute and volume is at full blast. I have to click on the little icon on the bottom right of the computer screen to change the volume, because now my keyboard shortcuts for raising the volume, lowering the volume, and muting won't work.
Anyone know what is happening and how to get my sound back?
