Spotify freezes whole computer.

Hi,

So i downloaded spotify installed it, and randomly when im playing music through it the whole computer just freezes and then i have to reboot. This is the only program i have this problem with.

I have updated all my drivers and it still happens. I have an external sound card which i bought because i thought my on board sound card might be the problem, but it still happens.

So yer I'm pretty newbie at computers and would quite like some guidance/advice on how to fix it.

Any ideas?

Hi,

This is the only program i have this problem with.

If it is the only program you have a problem with then your hardware is fine, it looks to be a driver associated with Spotify or Spotify itself making a wrong call to Windows drivers.
I would initially uninstall, clean up any remnants and re-install again.

Uninstalled it, reinstalled it, played roots manuva for about 2 songs, then complete freeze.

any other plans?

Ok i am able to play music through spotify if its on my computer with no problem at all, its only when i stream the music from spotify that it freezes, this also never happens with anything else i.e. internet, youtube etc.

So yer i guess it is to do with the spotify client, but how can i make it stop freezing when i stream off spotify?
