Starting to SLOWLY piece things together...

OK, thanks for the help on my previous posts, but I think I'm starting to finally understand the features and technology I need to accomplish what I'm trying to do.

For my dual widescreen setup, I want PCI-e, that much I know. And if I'm not mistaken I'm going to need dual (as in two) DVI-I outputs. I'm going to need a video card that supports a widescreen resolution, and from what I've heard, most do now. So my only question now is about the resolution... lets say a widescreen is 1600x900, which the graphic card supports, but the total resolution for the two monitores would be 3200x900, correct? Now does the graphic card have to support the 1600x900 per monitor, or the entire resolution?

Thanks again for the help, I know my postings are quite tedious, but I'm need to get this setup as soon as possible. Thanks!

well the computer will still see it as seperate monitors so you just need to support what ever each monitor runs, like in my setup (less fancy than yours 2 15 inch analog lcd monitors) each monitor runs 1024 X 768, and within windows it sees them as 2 monitors not one big monitor, so i could actually run 1024 X 768 on one and 800 X 600 on the other (i'm not sure why i'd want to) does that answer your question?

Thanks for the help! It makes perfect sense, however, are you running it in cloned or extended desktop mode? What card are you using? Thanks again!

extended desktop, (no start bar on the second monitor although i know you can get a program to do that) using my Sapphire Radeon X1600Pro had to use a DVI to VGA adapter on my second port tho lol, no big deal thats why it came with one.
