Steam Problem. NEED HELP!!

i tried running steam today, so i click on steam on my start menu. it says the regular " connecting steam account "username" " then before it fully connects i get an error that says "Platform Error: bad module Friends/friendsUI.dll', not loading"

anyone know the problem or what i could do to fix it??? :confused: :(
 
Try re-installing the Steam application. It looks like the file you mentioned is corrupted.
 
Maybe it will help but yesterday the Steam servers were down when I wanted to see who was online...
