Who's following this game? I am. There's currently an open public beta at www.darkspore.com. I'll be downloading it tomorrow. 5.2GB download (if you want the full install like I do).

It uses the same basic creature creating as seen in the game Spore. Darkspore is actually based off of Spore.
 
is it like a more adult motivated game or just where the characters are darker?

i playe dthe original on my borthers ds and my god is what crap as hell, the creating was fun but the game itself wa horrible. ;/
 
Well it looks like it'll be a lot more fun than the original Spore. Darkspore you get to actually kill other things and what not.

It is a top down action game (a la Diablo/Magicka) but you get to create your "hero", and like Magicka, it is very linear.

I think it looks ok, but won't be getting it, doesn't look that great in all honesty, at least not once you have played it for a little bit. Doesn't seem to have a lot of depth or replayability
 
think i may pass, i really hated the spore game thing :/ meh dint even know about until today so nout lost

You could've linked that BEFORE I wasted all that time downloading it. Game looks gay.

"It's a very mouse-clicky game, if you plan to play the game.......buy an extra mouse" :P

Oh, and the download failed >.<
